The relationship between the Fidel Castro’s government in Cuba and the United States deteriorated fast due to many reasons. The disagreement between the two nations went to a high again during the famous Cuban missile crisis in October 1962. The United States had a much larger collection of high long-range nuclear weapons and arsenals, than the Soviet Union, as well as medium-range ballistic missiles or the MRBMs in Turkey. On the other hand, the Soviet Union had a large stock piled up of medium-range nuclear weapons, which were mainly positioned in Europe.

In accordance with the Soviet Union, Cuba agreed to secretly place the SS-4 Sandal and SS-5 Skean MRBMs on their territory. This report got to the newspapers when inside exile sources from Cuba questioned the requirement for huge amounts of ice going to rural zones. This finally led to the discovery of these Soviet Union missiles, which were confirmed by U-2s. The United States had to respond urgently. It however responded by making a cordon or a stoppage in international waters to stop Soviet ships from carrying in more missiles, which were, designated quarantine into the Cuban territory. The relationship between the Fidel Castro’s government in Cuba and the United States deteriorated fast rather than a barrier to avoid problems with international law.

Mean while, Fidel Castro had developed a little too extreme liking for Moscow, so at the last moment the Soviets called back their ships. In addition, they had agreed to remove their weapons if the United States does not invade Cuba. However, this agreement had many other secrets to it. Once after the fall of the Soviet Union, it became known that there was also another part to the agreement. It was revealed later on by a Soviet official that another part of the agreement was the removal of U.S. missiles from Turkey.

It was also revealed that some of the submarines that the U.S. Navy stopped were transporting nuclear missiles and that communication with Moscow was shaky, successfully leaving the decision of releasing the missiles at the judgment of the commander of those submarines. After the fall of the Soviet Union, the Soviet government also revealed the fact that Free Rocket over Ground, which was armed with nuclear warheads and IL-28 Beagle bombers equipped with nuclear bombs, had been positioned in Cuba to be used in the event of a US invasion.

However, after this information, the United States has respected this agreement by not attacking Cuba again, but since then it has taken up grounds against the Castro government by increasing its international campaigns. Cuba then provided army to states like Angola, Nigeria and parts of South America against the Untied States. In one such battle, Ernesto Che Guevara was poisoned by the U.S. army and ultimately executed. This move was widely protested around the world and has taken up the form of a revolution.
